B+W UV MRC filters- these are the filters that Jason uses on his lenses to protect his glass. They are multi coated which helps to significantly reduce lens flare. A list is located to the right side of this picture that shows the filter sizes that Jason uses for his lenses.

Jason uses B+W UV filters to protect his lenses. Using cheaper lenses leads to a loss in image quality and significantly increases the chance of unwanted lens flare. Why spend $1,000 or more on a lens and not protect it? A lens hood isn't enough. Sometimes mud, rain or other artifacts are thrown towards you lens. Jason has had many lenses saved from having a high quality UV filter on the front of the lens. Protect your glass!
