Below are the adapted lenses and corresponding adapters that Jason uses in conjunction with his Sony mirrorless cameras. These are used on both his full frame and crop sensor bodies. Each lens comes with a recommendation for the best adapter to be used with that respective lens.
Canon 200mm f/2.8 L lens- this is by far one of Jason's favorite lenses and is one of the absolutely fastest adapted lenses for autofocus with the Metabones Mark 4 adapter. Insanely sharp, beautiful colors and the fall off is gorgeous. It's only $750, and much smaller and lighter than a 70-200. You won't regret getting this lens.
Canon 85mm f/1.2- this is a legendary lens amongst Canon users and Jason was very excited to try it out for himself when switching to Sony. This works with auto focus on the Sony mirrorless system (best with the A7Rii, A6500, or A6300) with 2 different adapters. It is a special lens.
Adapters to use with this lens: Metabones Mark 4 or the Sigma MC-11.
Sony Zeiss 135mm (A mount)- this is the lens that made Jason fall in love with using adapted lenses with his Sony mirrorless system. This is a legendary lens among Sony users of the A mount system (DSLR-T) and it yield phenomenal results on the mirrorless system as well.
Adapter to use with this lens: Sony LAEA4
Canon 50mm f/1.2- this is the very first Canon lens that Jason purchased when switching to Sony. He has many videos out using this lens in exotic locations for some truly stunning results. This works with auto focus on the Sony mirrorless system (best with the A7Rii, A6500, or A6300) with 2 different adapters. It is a special lens.
Adapters to use with this lens: Metabones Mark 4 or the Sigma MC-11.
Sony LAEA3 Adapter- this is to be used with Sony A mount lenses that are electronically driven meaning most newer lenses. Jason uses this adapter with the 70-400 Sony A mount. This also needs to be used with the A7Rii, A6500, or A6300 for auto focus purposes. This will provide a hit rate of about 85% compared to native lenses.
Petzval 85mm f/2.2 lens- this is a very unique lens that produces a swirly bokeh effect in the background. Almost like a kaleidoscope type effect. It's completely manual focus and the aperture blades are inserted manually on the top. If you're looking for a very different look in your images, this might be the lens for you!
