Below are the rechargeable batteries that Jason uses to power his gear. These batteries are primarily used for his speed lights, microphones, transmitters, and are especially beneficial for his Rotolight Neo 2 LED lights.
Powerex Imedion AA rechargeable batteries- these batteries are a little less powerful than the Eneloop Pros (2400mah compared to 2550mah for the Eneloop Pros), but still are great batteries and are slightly less expensive as well. Both the Eneloop Pros and Powerex Imedion batteries are better than conventional rechargeables because they retain up to 80% their charge when unused in a year compared to other rechargeables that lose about 1% of charge per day.
Eneloop Pros AAA rechargeable batteries- these are the batteries that Jason uses for smaller lighting devices, remote controls and transmitters etc. These will charge in the Powerex battery charger that Jason recommends.
Eneloop Pro AA rechargeable batteries- these are one of two brands that Jason recommends for photographer to use. The Eneloop Pros along with the Powerex Medion batteries are the longest lasting, highest performance rechargeable batteries he has ever used and is widely agreed upon in the photography industry. This is especially true for things like speedlights where batteries can drain quickly. These will charge in the Powerex battery charger that Jason recommends.
