Maui Bridals Hawaiian Weddings in Maui

www.hawaiianweddingsmaui.com

This bridal image was taken on the beautiful island of Maui.  There are so many amazing places there to shoot, and I have explored virtually all of them.  It truly pays to explore which is what we did for this shot.  I found this old road that the Sugar Cane company used to use and I loved the lines it gave us with the tree shadows being casted down....just beautiful!

Bottoms Up at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego Wedding

This image was taken at the wedding I shot at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego in the bridal dressing room. This little baby girl was an honorary flower girl and when she started crawling around with this on her bum I couldn't resist getting a shot.  Too cute!

Major League Love, Destination Wedding in Cleveland Indians Baseball Stadium

www.destinationweddingphotographerneeded.com

This image was taken at my wedding for Matt and Jenna inside the Cleveland Indians Baseball Stadium at my destination wedding in Cleveland, Ohio.  I had never had the opportunity to shoot a wedding shoot on the actual field, so this was a real thrill for both me and the couple.  We shot inside of the dugout, the outfield, played baseball etc.  It was a BLAST!  One of the main reasons why I love destination weddings is because of all the unique places I get to shoot!!

Manly Harbor Australia, Destination Wedding by Jason Lanier

www.destinationweddingphotographerneeded.com

This image was taken at my wedding for Mike and Melodie in Manly Beach which is about 45 minutes out of Sydney.  During the ceremony it started pouring and everyone started worrying about what impact it would have on the wedding photography.  Having an extensive landscape photography background, I smiled and said, "Well, if the weather turns this could actually be AMAZING!"  Well, once the rain dissipated we got the most beautiful clouds to come in and give us great shots.  You can actually see the raindrops still sitting on the railing because we shot this about 5 minutes after the rain stopped.

Bridal Room Getting Ready at Weddings in Disneyland

www.weddingsindisney.com

This image was taken at my Disneyland wedding for Christina and Ransen.  The bridal getting ready area was a converted meeting room, so in order to get a shot like this we turned the lights off, and I borrowed a mirror that the make up artist brought and leaned it up against the wall to get this shot of the bride reaching up for her dress.

Sometimes it's not about what you're given, it's about what you can create....

Shooting a photojournalistic wedding at the Christmas House Inn and Gardens

www.weddingphotographersinsoutherncalifornia.com

Every bride is different, and it's very important to understand their individual needs.  As an artist it's easy to get caught up into yourself, and to think that you should take no direction.  Well, I learned a long time ago that there is a balance between artistic vision and client needs and desires.  Yes, my clients hire me because want my style of work which is GREAT!  But it's also very important to listen to your clients and what STYLE of your work they are looking for...

My wedding couple here wanted a completely unposed wedding photography product.  Some photographers might be concerned at such a notion...but when you think about 80% of your wedding is photojournalism anyways right?  You can't pose the first dance, the daddy daughter, toasts, reception, etc.

This moment was captured following an emotional ceremony and as they left the ceremony site they just couldn't help but embrace for a passionate moment with each other.  Thank you for letting me shoot your wedding Kristin and Chad!

This image was taken at my wedding Saturday at the Christmas House Inn and Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.  I knelt down next to the bridesmaids and framed the bride and groom with the bouquets. Weddings in Paris Bridals at the Eiffel Tower

www.destinationweddingphotographerneeded.com

This was one of my favorite shoot ever.  I met the bride Ashley at the Eiffel Tower and we did an awesome shoot, albeit a very cold one!  Ashley was so great and did such an admirable job given the weather, but luckily the rain had just dissipated so it gave us a great sky.  I just love destination weddings!

Hawaiian Weddings in Maui Ruins

www.hawaiianweddingsmaui.com

This shoot was done of a bride in Maui, Hawaii at one of the old Sugar cane factory buildings that was built in the 1800's.  Something that I love to do with my brides is to incorporate the surroundings and background into my imagery that will someday be the artwork in their home.  It's one of the main reasons why I LOVE shooting destination weddings...you get the opportunity to shoot in such amazing places.  I've personally shot in Hawaii alone more than 20 separate times...I just LOVE it there!

The time after a couple is officially married is so special.  It allows you to capture and for them to express the love they have for each other.  It's usually the most exciting part of the day for the wedding couple.  This image was taken at my LDS Temple wedding for Brady and Abbie Bluhm at the Redlands Temple. Dinner Service at a Montage Laguna Beach Wedding

www.lagunabeachmontageweddings.com

www.weddingphotographersinsoutherncalifornia.com

It's always important to grab a shot of the dinner plates and tables before the ceremony starts...if possible. That's providing that there is enough time between you doing the couple shoot and when the venue lets the wedding guests into the Ballroom.  For my wedding at the Laguna Beach Montage we made arrangements to make sure I was in there before the wedding guests were allowed to enter.  This really made for such opportunity for photography....

Bride with tattoos at the Christmas House Inn Wedding

www.jasonlanierweddingphotography.com

www.christmashouseweddings.com

Some brides cover up their tattoos, others purposely buy dresses that show them off...:)  I just love how Kristin who was married just last week decided to showcase her ink.  I really love how in this shot you see the rose on her shoulder next to the huge bouquet of beautiful flowers.  And you can also see how she chose a low cut dress in the back to show off her tattoo there as well.  What a beautiful bride, awesome wedding, and amazing couple...
