When Hell Freezes Over – Six Flags New Orleans, January 2025
That one time in January 2025 when a once-in-200-year blizzard swept through New Orleans and froze everything in its path, including the haunting remains of Six Flags New Orleans (formerly Jazzland). Standing in an abandoned amusement park, halfway demolished, blanketed in snow and silence, was nothing short of surreal. The air was still, the echoes of laughter long gone, and the only sound was the crunch of snow beneath my boots.
Moments like these remind me why I document these forgotten places, to capture what once was, even when nature reclaims it in the most unexpected ways.
