The Painful Truth About Chasing Your Dreams

The funny thing they never tell you about dreams is that dreams can be painful.

Dreams are a lot like falling in love. Unless you dive in all the way, you’ll never truly experience them. You have to give them your heart. Your time. Your energy. Your belief.
And when you do that, you make yourself vulnerable.

Because when you truly believe in a dream, the possibility of it not coming true can break your heart. Especially when you've given so much of yourself to make it a reality.

But some of us were simply born to dream. It's an inexplicable drive that many times makes no logical sense. Yet we continue to chase are dreams.

We were born believing we could be more. That we could create something that matters. That somewhere inside of us is something worth sharing with the world.

Dreams take sacrifice.
Dreams take commitment.
Dreams take courage.

But more than anything, dreams require you to believe in yourself, even when it feels like everyone else has stopped believing in you.

So if you’re a dreamer like me, keep going.

Push through the no’s. Push through the negativity. Push through the disappointment and the self-doubt. Keep chasing that thing inside of you that says you can make a difference, that somehow, in your own way, you can leave this world a little better than you found it.

And remember something else:

While you’re fighting for your dream, someone else is watching.
Someone who may be close to giving up on theirs.

Without even realizing it, your persistence can become their reason to keep going. Your courage can remind someone else to find theirs.

So dream big. Risk the heartbreak. Take the chance.
Never give up on your dreams, my friends.

And most importantly…

Never give up on yourself.
