Join Master of Light Jason Lanier for a 3 hour Master Class on Photography Lighting called the 4 Pillars of Lighting in Photography.

As many of us know, the word "Photography" means "Painting with Light" The camera is our brush, and lighting is our paint. The 4 Pillars of Lighting encompasses the aspects of:

  • Natural Light

  • Flash- with an emphasis on off camera flash and high speed sync

  • Diffusion, Reflection and Modification

  • LED Continuous Lighting

This is a hands-on course where Jason will share his secrets to lighting success with 4 distinct lighting demonstrations, followed by 4 group shooting sessions where you can immediately take what you've learned from Jason's instruction and practice those techniques right there on the spot with real models in very dynamic locations.

HOUR 1

**Intro to Lighting and the need to incorporate lighting into your workflow to create amazing imagery. (20 minutes)- INSTRUCTION

**How to Properly Use Natural Light for Optimal Success in both ideal and challenging situations (20 minutes)- DEMONSTRATION

**GROUP SHOOT TO PRACTICE NATURAL LIGHTING (20 MINUTES)


HOUR 2

**How to Properly use FLASH for Optimal Results- This would be for the Godox, Profoto and other traditional flash system users out there. Flash can make a world of difference in your images and Jason will show you how to to it for incredible results. DEMONSTRATION- 20 MINUTES

**How to Properly Use Diffusion, Reflection and Modifiers for Optimal Success (20 minutes) DEMONSTRATION

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

*What camera gear should I bring to the event? It's recommended to bring a 1 or 2 prime lenses (35mm, 50mm, 85mm) or a zoom like a 70-200mm or 24mm-70mm. It's not required to bring a lot of lenses. The key aspects of learning are lighting related so regardless of what you have gear wise you will learn.

*What lighting gear should I bring to the event? You're welcome to bring any gear that you like for your own practice purposes. Jason will provide a variety of lights per the given segment of instruction that attendees can utilize in a group sharing scenario.

*Do I have to be a user of a certain camera or lighting system to attend? Nope! This series is specifically designed to cater to photographers of all makes and models from Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fuji and everything in between.

From a lighting perspective we see users from Godox, Profoto, Rotolight, Stella, and more. This isn't a sales pitch for any particular camera or lighting system. This is about HOW to use what YOU ALREADY HAVE or may consider getting down the road, for optimal results.

*What experience level do I need to be? Photographers from all different levels will learn. Newer photographers will get a great crash course on the fundamentals of lighting, while intermediate and experienced photographers will get brush ups on stuff they may not practice much or haven't had a chance to learn. It's really a well designed course for anyone who wants to get better at lighting.

*Do I need to have a car? Nope! We will meet in the lobby of the hotel for your event and then go out on foot for some amazing lessons and group shooting sessions. All you have to do is make it to the hotel lobby to meet at the designated start time.

*How do I register? Click the link to join the event! Pay the registration fee and you're in!

*What is the cancellation policy? Jason will provide refunds should the event get cancelled. Which he doesn't do. If you sign up, it's gonna happen.

*Do I have to pay anything extra for the models or for a release? Can I use the shots? Yes you can use the shots you take at the course and you don't have to pay anything extra to the models. It's all included in your registration fee!

*I'm coming in from out of town. Where should I stay? You're welcome to book a hotel at any place you like. You just need to meet us at the designated hotel for your event at the start time.
