  • A Real Wedding Workshop is a live, hands-on educational experience that takes place during an actual wedding that Jason Lanier is hired to photograph. The wedding is real, the couple is real, and the timeline is real. Jason remains the contracted lead photographer and delivers all final images to the couple. A small group of photographers is allowed to attend and shoot under Jason’s direction for educational purposes.

  • No. This is not a styled shoot, model call, or staged event. These are real weddings with real couples, real guests, real timelines, and real conditions.

  • This experience is for photographers who are interested in shooting weddings but want to see what it’s like before doing it on their own. It’s also ideal for experienced wedding photographers who are looking to up their wedding game, learn new tips and tricks and bolster their portfolio. We’ve had photographers from beginning to pro attend and everyone has walked away with valiable experience and knowledge.

  • No. Jason Lanier is solely responsible for client communication, shot list coverage, image selection, editing, final delivery, and all client fulfillment. Workshop attendees shoot for educational purposes only.

  • Images may be used for portfolio and educational purposes only. Attendees masy use the images on their website. Commercial use or publication requires written approval. Full usage guidelines are provided before each workshop.

  • Typically 4-8 photographers, depending on:

    • Wedding size

    • Venue layout

    • Timeline complexity

    Attendance is intentionally limited to maintain a controlled environment and protect the couple’s experience.

  • Yes — but within the context of a real wedding. Jason provides:

    • Live guidance throughout the day

    • Direction on positioning and timing

    • Real-time feedback when possible.

    This is not a classroom — it’s real-time learning in a live environment.

  • No, but basic camera operation is recommended. You do not need to be a pro at shooting or lighting to attend but having the basics down will help you to get the most out of the day.

  • Yes all male attendees are required to wear black dress pants and a black button down shirt and black dress shoes. Female attendees can wear the same as male attendees but also have the option to wear a black dress or a black skirt and black blouse with black shoes.

  • Shooting is allowed during assigned times and positions. Jason controls all coverage decisions to ensure:

    • No moments are missed

    • No guest experience is disrupted

    • The couple’s priorities come first
