Rotolight RL 48 Interview Kit at a REAL Wedding Workshop by Jason Lanier

www.funphotoworkshops.com

This production image shot by my second photographer Vanden King was taken of me using my two Rotolights from my RL 48 Interview Kit.  This was taken while I was shooting a macro shot of the rings with my Nikon 105mm macro lens at the Palace of Gold in Moundsville, WV.  It was an amazing day and I just love using these lights.  We are currently working out an affiliate deal with Rotolight so we can make these lights more accessible to all of you!

New Workshops Website!!!

www.funphotoworkshops.com

Hey Everybody!  I've been promising a new workshops website for quite some time and now it's done! You can view real workshops videos, images, information and more.  The REALLY cool thing about the image galleries is that you are allowed to download all the behind the scenes shots and group shots as well...for FREE!  We also have a whole new section in there for my Supernatural Shoots.

Please let me know what you all think....:)  Thanks!

Didn't your Momma ever tell you to not play with alligators?

www.funphotoworkshops.com

This awesome shot was provided by my workshop attendee and friend Dwight Paredes aka "Barbara Walters" of me playing a little with the alligators in the Everglades.  This guy actually got much closer than this and definitely had his eye on me as we played some cat and mouse for about 30 minutes.  Truly an awesome time!  Thanks Dwight for such a great capture!!

This is MY Place....

www.funphotoworkshops.com

This was taken while I was out doing a workshop in North Carolina earlier this month.  We were granted the opportunity to shoot at Shadowhawk by the owner of the place who was very gracious.  It's an amazing little western town that he built all himself that patterned after many of the sets he worked on as a TV and film actor many years ago.  If you haven't been there you should definitely go...it's awesome!

Camera settings: Nikon D800, 1/320 sec at f/4.0, 16mm at ISO 80, flash did not fire.  Taken at 5:45pm on April 3, 2013 by Jason Lanier.

A Stage To Her Own...at the Metropolitan Theater in West Virginia

www.funphotoworkshops.com

This image was taken at the Metropolitan Theater in Morgantown, West Virginia during my workshop there last week.  It was an amazing workshop and we got to shoot in so many unique locations that it just seemed to never end.  For this shot I used off camera flash to light her from the back and used my Sony video lights to light her from the front.  Thanks to all who came and to Jenn for modeling!

Camera settings: Nikon D800, 1/100 sec at f/4.0, 16mm at ISO 4000, flash fired.  Taken at 7:10pm on April 17, 2013 by Jason Lanier.

Best Production Shot Competition

This amazing image was provided to me courtesy of Steven Squires who is one of my photographers and is also affectionately known as, "Squirts."  Or if you're being formal you would call him, "Ginger Squirts."

This image was taken at my workshop in Nevada last month.  I'm going to hold a competition for the best production shot taken at one of my workshops this year.  The Page will vote on the images to determine a winner in concert with my thoughts as well.  The winner will win something super cool that I will decide upon once the competition begin.

Thanks for the great shot Squirts!!

Signing my life away at the Hotel Morgan....literally

www.funphotoworkshops.com

While in Morgantown, West Virginia this past week we had the amazing opportunity to shoot inside of the shut down and historic Warner Theather in downtown Morgantown.  The theater is owned by the Hotel Morgan, so in order for us to get the keys to the place I had to sign a release pretty much stating that if I died it was my fault and no one could sue the hotel.  It was totally worth it.  A HUGE THANKS to Susan Riddle for helping us make the arrangements to get in there and for Megan Ward for helping to connect all the communication dots so I could even speak to Susan in the first place.  I totally wanna shoot there again!!!

Nature's Lens Hood...my hand

www.funphotoworkshops.com

Nothing's better than going back to the basics when doing a photo shoot!  This production image was taken at my workshop in West Virginia earlier this week.  We found an abandoned little house on the side of the road and after working our way around bees, wasps, and barking dogs, we started doing a great shoot together.  Can't wait to share more pics!

Rocky Mountain National Park and Stanley Hotel 2-Day Shooting Workshop

Come join award winning photographer Jason Lanier for two days of shooting bliss as we explore the wiles of Rocky Mountain National Park!  We are also planning on swinging by the historic Stanley Hotel where Stephen King received his inspiration for "The Shining."  Click below to register now!

http://www.meetup.com/Meet-Ups-with-Jason-Lanier/events/105262262/

This will be a mix workshop for both landscape and people photography lovers.  We will spend a good time on both as we shoot the beauty of the earth while also incorporating models into the shots.  Models are not allowed in Rocky Mountain National Park so all model shoots will take place outside of the park.

I can't wait to see you all there!!!
