A Rose in the French Quarter 🌹 | First Night Shooting with Godox LED

There’s something magical about photographing in the French Quarter at night. The glow of the street lights, the movement of people passing by, the music drifting through the air, it all creates the perfect backdrop for storytelling through photography.

For this shoot, the incredible @krystal_kadaver brought elegance and attitude to the streets with a stunning red dress and a single red rose. We kept the lighting soft and cinematic using the Godox LA300R with the lantern modifier, allowing the light to wrap naturally around her while blending beautifully with the ambient glow of the city.

What made this shoot especially fun for me is that it was my first time ever using Godox LED lighting for my work. After more than a decade using other systems, it was exciting to step outside my usual setup and see what else is out there in the marketplace. I have to say, it was a blast experimenting with this light and seeing how it performed in a real-world night shoot environment.

The lantern modifier created a beautiful, soft wrap of light that separated the model from the background while still keeping that rich bokeh and street atmosphere alive.

Huge thanks to the amazing @krystal_kadaver for bringing the vision to life and helping create something special in the middle of a busy night in New Orleans.

Photography is always about experimenting, pushing boundaries, and finding new tools that inspire creativity. This was definitely one of those nights.
