This image was taken at my wedding for Aaron and Daryl at the Mosteller Mansion late last month in Hickory, North Carolina. For this image I shot off camera flash with my Pocket Wizards and Ray Flash as my assistant Bethany positioned herself behind the chandelier to block her from the shot. This was such a beautiful venue that I just had to find a way to showcase both the wedding dress and the venue at the same time!
This shot was taken of Aaron King...an awesome man, good husband, and a sexy beast. Need I say more? Ok, I'll say a little more. This is the handsome stud who was married to the beautiful bride Daryl that I've been posting from my wedding at the Mosteller Mansion in Hickory, NC. We only had a few minutes before I went up to the bride to do these shots but we made them rock!

This image was taken of my beautiful Bride Daryl who was married to Aaron at the Mosteller Mansion in Hickory, North Carolina late last month. She was waiting at the top of the stairs for her Dad to come and get her and I grabbed these shots by shooting through the decorative trim on the staircase. I lighted it by using off camera flash so it gave me the results I wanted. Hope you like it!

This image was taken at my wedding for Aaron and Daryl back at the Mosteller Mansion in Hickory, North Carolina. It was such a pretty venue and a beautiful wedding dress, and I'm so happy that I had the opportunity be able to share in their special day!

This image was taken about an hour away from Juneau Alaska back in June of 2011. Having gone whale watching many times, it's difficult to capture a breach because either the whale doesn't feel like doing it, the boat is facing the wrong direction, or your camera isn't ready. To get a shot like this it all has to come together to make it happen. I captured the entire jump sequence of this beautiful animal and I am so happy that I had this opportunity!

This camera is seriously outrageous. It's only $600 bucks and that includes a lens. I seriously can't believe this camera is 24mp, shoots 1080p video and does 60 frames per second in video at 720p, and it has that new feature that allows you to send your pictures from the camera to your smartphone wirelessly. If you are looking to get into photography, or for an amazing Christmas gift...THIS IS IT!

I took this image while on my chartered excursion to the Tracy Arm Fjord in Alaska. We came across this iceberg and was so enamored with the sparkly glow of the ice...just amazing. Hope you like it!

This is a shot actually taken by one of my sons (don't know which one they are triplets) of me while I was shooting in the Tracy Arm Fjord in Alaska. My boys loving grabbing my cameras and taking shots...usually of each other or me! My little guy did this with my Nikon D7000, while I was shooting with my D3. It's never too early to get a camera in their hands!
Hey Everyone! I'm starting a new online photography club and I need your help. I have hundreds of students across this awesome country that have attended one of my workshops and I need your shots! I am creating a new online community space where we can share our pictures (only those taken at my workshops) so we can all be one big family. You will all have the ability to download other peoples shots (mine too). I'm looking for shots that are either behind the scenes, group shots, or if you'd like to STRUT YOUR STUFF and put up some shots that you took at the workshop that's AWESOME too!
Couple rules:
- Understand that others will download your shots, so only send me the shots that you are okay with.
- Watermark- you are only allowed to watermark the bottom of the image. I'm totally okay with you getting credit for your shot but I'm trying to create a space where all of my students can share in the fun.
If you are interested please email me your photos to jason@jlpros.com. These will be used in concert with the Photography Club that will be launched in December of this year!!
Mahalo, Gracias, and THANKS!
Jason
This image was taken during my excursion to the Tracy Arm Fjord back in June of 2011. It was an amazing trek, and when we came upon this lone seal in the middle of the water with all this ice, we all felt a little sorry for him....especially when he turned and looked at us like you see here. Hope you like it!

I have been on a lot of excursions, but none has ever been better than the one I took to the Tracy Arm Fjord out of Juneau Alaska. It was seriously something that we still talk about to this day. I always love to take shots like this one that have a portion of the boat in them so I can see myself back there, at that moment. If you have the chance...DO NOT pass up the opportunity to go on this adventure!

This dress was torn to bits in front of our eyes! The bride Randi agreed to trash her real wedding dress and we had fun with it and did it with a Halloween theme. This is a composite shot of multiple images taken with a tripod and then put together. Happy Halloween!

Ever seen a bride rise from the dead?! Well, this one sure did. We did this shoot a year ago for a special Trash the Dress shoot Halloween style and it was a blast! I went and bought two fog machines at the Party Store for $75 bucks, found an awesome location where the home owners allowed us to shoot, and we made it happen!
I had one of my real former brides (Randi) agree to rip and trash her real wedding day dress. The home owners had this coffin in their front yard for Halloween, so we put Randi inside the coffin with one of my video lights, and then put another video light next to the fog machine so it would illuminate the fog, and then I shot! Thanks to Cameron and Steven for helping me with this shoot!

This image was taken during my excusrion/adventure down to Alaska in May/June of 2011. For this shot I chartered a boat so I could get the perspective from the water. This is a 8-shot panoramic stitched together in Photoshop. Hope you like it!

This is a 7 picture panoramic taken of the waterfall next to the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau Alaska. It's about a 2-mile hike into the waterfall but it is TOTALLY worth it. Just an absolutely amazing sight to witness and behold.
