"Teamwork" by Jason Lanier
This image was taken back in May 2011 while I was there doing landscape shoots. We found this cabin, dressed up my triplets, and made a shoot out of it!

"No Girls Allowed!" Rebuilding the Boys Club House
This image was taken a year and a half ago in Juneau Alaska. While there to do my landscape photography we happened upon this tiny shack in the middle of nowhere and I immediately thought, "Oh my gosh, that looks like a place I would love to have as a clubhouse if I was a little boy. So we went to the store, bought outfits for my boys, got tools, and did a full fledged shoot there right in Juneau. I'll tell you what, it really was awesome and I'm glad I take these opportunities to do shoots with my own kids as well. And yes, they are triplets....

Alaskan Lighthouse...in the middle of the ocean
This image was taken on the Alaska Marine Highway between Haines and Juneau. I just loved seeing this lighthouse sitting out there in this huge ocean with gigantic mountains behind it. I really loved the sharp peak that was above it that made this picture really pop. When you're choosing a subject or foreground for your image you can never forget to take into account the background as well. Hope you like it!

Alaska Marine Highway- Panoramic Fine Art Landscape
This image was taken while I was on the the Alaska Marine Highway between Haines and Juneau. It's an absolutely amazing stretch of ocean and the only way to travel on "land" or sea as there are no roads down there to connect the two. This is a 10-shot panoramic and I just loved the reflection and the center Mountain peak that rose above the rest of the shot. It is just a truly remarkable part of the world...

"Fallen Angel" at the Sugarshack
This image was taken at the Moundsville State Penitentiary in the famous Sugarshack where many not so great dealings took place. There is artwork over all the walls that was made by the inmates while they were there, which definitely gives it a spooky feel. Thanks to Debbie for bringing the wings!

West Virginia Country Roads
This image was taken during my workshop in West Virginia last week. While driving to our site to shoot our model I stopped to grab this shot when I saw this gorgeous road. After the "Frankenstorm" that's coming I doubt anything will be left of this, so I thought I'd post to show some better times. I purposely got down into the ditch and shot this at an angle to give it a more distinct look. Hope you like it!

Reflections of a bride at the Mosteller Mansion
This image was taken of my bride Daryl at the Mosteller Mansion last week during my wedding there for her and her husband Aaron. It is an absolutely gorgeous venue with an abundance of places to shoot. Every photographer loves mirrors and this place doesn't disappoint with numerous mirrors, especially in the bridal room, that make it so fun to shoot. It of course doesn't hurt to have a BEAUTIFUL bride like Daryl as well!

"Holding Hands" a wedding in San Diego
This image was taken at my wedding last night for Paul and Jessica at the Bali Hai in San Diego. The image was taken this was and wasn't cropped, I purposely wanted a shot that showed them holding hands over the skyline of San Diego with the moon above them. It was such a beautiful night...I wish all weddings could have such tremendous weather!

Congratulations to Paul and Jessica who were married yesterday at the Bali Hai on Shelter Island in San Diego. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding and I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to share that amazing day with them. Thanks to Joyce and Steven for coming along and assisting as well. A big thanks to Shellie with In Style Event Planning for referring this wedding to me. She really does an AMAZING job!

Re-Post of the Moundsville Penitentiary Shoot
I'm re-posting this image because the first one I did while 35,000 feet in the air on my Delta Flight and it didn't post properly. So I wanted to re-post it so you didn't think that I am okay with errors in the image.
"This image was taken yesterday at my workshop at the world famous Moundsville State Penitentiary. It is known worldwide for being one of the bloodiest prisons and most haunted places on earth. While at the Penitentiary we were able to conduct a radio interview with PBS, and shoot two gorgeous models with the help of a great group of photographers
I want to send out a sincere thanks to everyone that came and a special thanks to Vanden King and Faye Santos for helping make this a success. This image was shot with the help of two Pocket Wizards that fired my SB910 speedlight which was located in the cell to the left of the model Yvonne. I put my Ray flash attachment onto my speedlight so it would better disperse the light. I then used two flashlights (thanks to those that held them) with one light on the stripes on her dress from the left with the other on her face from the right. That's how we did it!"

Classroom Session Production Still from a Jason Lanier Photography Workshop
This image was taken during day two of my workshop in West Virginia where we covered the Lightroom training session. We had a great time and I can't thank everyone enough for coming. That poor In N' Out shirt that I'm wearing ended up getting destroyed later on in the day when we did the trash the dress shoot...but it was worth it! Thanks again to all my photography students who are really like family for coming!!
Making the Moundsville State Penitentiary Sexy
This image was taken yesterday at my workshop at the world famous Moundsville State Penitentiary. It is known worldwide for being one of the bloodiest prisons and most haunted places on earth. While at the Penitentiary we were able to conduct a radio interview with PBS, and shoot two gorgeous models with the help of a great group of photographers and a great tour guide named Ryan Britt.

Wearing a halo inside of a bloody prison
This image was taken of me during the shoot last night at the Moundsville State Penitentiary last night! We had an angel outfit for the models and when it was time for the halo to come off the models head it went onto mine! Like so many times during my workshops things end up on my head and stay there for the duration of the shoot...like the 2 foot sunhat that I wore on the subway in New York. Nothing better than a little fun!
PBS Radio Interview...inside the Moundsville State Penitentiary!
Last night I had the amazing opportunity to conduct a radio interview with PBS inside the Moundsville State Penitentiary. While out here doing the workshop they contacted me and asked if we could do an interview, and we ended up connecting at the Moundsville Penitentiary of all places! It was an awesome experience and I can't thank them enough for taking the time to interview me about photography, workshops, and where the industry is today! I always love doing things like this but I have to say that I've never done it in a place like the Moundsville State Penitentiary...AWESOME!
Country Roads take me home....West Virginia
Rolling in the mud...at a Jason Lanier Workshop
This is an image taken yesterday at my workshop in West Virginia. We did a trash the dress shoot and got absolutely filthy...this shot was taken before I fell into the mud and to the right of me you can see Faye and Debbie really starting to get into it. We shot in front of an old coal mine that was just amazing. Can't wait to share pics!
